I wanted to try something new this month. It has been a while since I posted, but life has gotten in the way and I had not been feeling inspired to sit down and write.
As I was doomscolling through the internet, I noticed a trend of videos about "My monthly favorites". Basically, at the end of each month, you share what your favorite things or activities were. I decided this is a fun way to cover the many things that go into my mind and the many things I do in the month.
April was exciting as I finished a book, I started reading Joe Abercrombie's first law trilogy. The first book, "Blade Itself", was a great read. A bit different from what I usually read, which is female writers, it has been refreshing to read something new.
My garden update this month is transplanting tomato plants. I started my seeds last month, along with bell peppers, basil, marigold and mint. It was a tiring four hours, pouring soil and transplanting the seedlings. My Jalapeno plant (second year growing) had some aphides attack it but I got rid of them using soap water and neem oil spray. Hoping to get a nice harvest this year as well. Since I am so new to gardening, I will try and update in this space. I am so inspired by some of the blogs like Carmen in the Garden and Epic Gardening. It is so refreshing to see all the produce that I hope I someday have myself.
For hosting, this month I hosted a few of my friends for a spring themed lunch. The menu included
Starters like lemon whipped ricotta and crostini, Chana Chaat baskets with sides such as a feta and olive checker board, spring salad with burata & balsamic glaze. The maines included a rigatoni primavera and Fried crispy mushrooms. And a very special Milk & Berries cake. All made from scratch. All made with love :)
I love to make a pinterest board when I am planning something. It helps immensely in keeping me motivated.
My pinterest board:

Some videos & photos from the day. A big lesson learnt is to take some actual photos from the day of. I would have loved to share my recipes but the truth is very inspired by the recipes around me. I forgot to record all of them. But I will post them soon, hopefully.
